Abstract
In the following article, the author describes the current situation in the field of social work in Slovakia caused by the war conflict that began in 2022. The acute situation and the influx of refugees, hitherto unknown in modern history, and the need to solve social demands and problems put social workers and also refugees in a specific mutual relationship and professional attitude in the field of providing help, support and services.
