The presented issue of the scientific journal is thematically focused on selected aspects of social work, charitable activities, and their social, institutional, and labor-law contexts. The published contributions reflect current theoretical frameworks as well as empirical findings that respond to the dynamically changing conditions of helping professions and the functioning of the non-profit sector in the Central European context. The study Selected Aspects of Self-Care for Social Workers (M. Hamarová, Z. Budayová) addresses the issue of self-care within the context of the professional functioning of social workers. The authors analyze selected dimensions of self-care as a significant factor in the prevention of burnout syndrome, the maintenance of psychological resilience, and the long-term quality of provided social services.
