SOCIAL WORK IN THE PROCESS OF THERAPY AND RESOCIALIZATION OF DRUG ADDICTS

Abstract
The use of legal and illegal drugs represents a complex social phenomenon that affects individuals, families, and communities. The text focuses on the perspective of social work in addressing drug addiction, its theoretical foundations, methods, and approaches in working with individuals who are dependent on drugs. It analyzes four key theoretical models – psychiatric, sociocultural, moral, and medical – which determine specific intervention strategies used in practice. Attention is also given to the phases of resocialization, methods of social work, and the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation among professionals. The aim is to emphasize the necessity of acceptance, professional support, and a comprehensive approach to addicted individuals in the process of treatment and resocialization.
